How to export data from Seqta

This guide shows you where to find class, subject, teacher and student data in Seqta so you can import it into Atomi. This article is for school IT staff or Seqta administrators who already have admin access to the platform.

Seqta usually isn't the original source of your student and staff records. Most schools run a separate student information system underneath it, such as Synergetic, TASS, MAZE, Edval or Sentral, and Seqta syncs data in from that system every night. Some fields may live more reliably in your student information system than in Seqta.

Prerequisites

  • A Seqta login with Administrator or Data management level access, including the DATA: EDIT permission.

  • Access to the Administration workspace in Seqta Teach, and permission to run reports in Attendance administration and Correspondence.

  • If teacher or student email addresses are missing or incorrect in Seqta, check your school's underlying student information system, since that's usually the source of contact details.

Where to find each export

  • Classes, subjects and year levels: click the Administration workspace icon, then the Attendance administration menu item and run the Class Statistics report over a full timetable cycle.

  • Student email addresses: click the Administration workspace icon, then the Correspondence menu item, and export using the Basic student data option in the Mode dropdown, if these aren't already in your Class Statistics export.

  • Teacher email addresses: click the Administration workspace icon, then the Data management menu item, then the Staff list item. Seqta doesn't have a confirmed bulk export for this. See Troubleshooting below.

For the exact, current navigation and report options for your school, see the SEQTA help and support portal.

Note: Once you've exported this data, head back to Preparing your data for import into Atomi to format it using the Atomi Import Template and send it through to us.

Troubleshooting

I can't find a way to bulk export teacher email addresses. This isn't a confirmed standard export in Seqta. Most schools manage staff records in their student information system, and Seqta only syncs in the fields your school has chosen to sync. Pull teacher email addresses from your student information system's own staff or HR export, and match them to Seqta by staff code.

The Class Statistics report is missing some classes. This is usually a date range issue. Set the date range to cover a full timetable cycle (one full week is usually safest) so classes that don't run every day are still captured.

Teacher or student email addresses are blank in Seqta. This usually means the field isn't synced from your student information system, or hasn't been filled in there. Check the source record rather than editing it directly in Seqta, as a direct edit may be overwritten during the next sync.

Where to go for help

For SEQTA-specific questions, including permissions, sync profiles or report columns, go to the SEQTA help and support portal or submit a support ticket directly.
