Atomi’s reusable tasks let teachers save time, build consistency and deliver quality learning year after year.
Whether you’re planning for the year ahead or using a lesson from a previous class, reusing tasks will help you deliver consistent and engaging learning experiences.
How to reuse a task from a deleted class
Tasks from deleted classes will appear in the Historical tasks tab within the tasks page.
From anywhere on Atomi, click on Tasks menu item in the top menu.
Then, click on the Historical tab.
To quickly find a specific task, you can filter the list by Class, Content type and Year or use the search field.
Once you’ve found a task you would like to reuse, click the more menu (⋮ icon) on the right of the task list and select Reuse task.
The contents of your historical task will be pre-filled in the task editor, where you can make updates, assign it to or schedule it for a class or classes.
Assign or schedule a task for your class
Assigning a task will trigger an email notification for students and make it immediately discoverable.
Scheduling a task will make it available to students at a predetermined time in the future.
To assign or schedule a task:
Under Due date, click the down arrow and select a date.
Under Time due, click the down arrow and select a time.
Under Classes, click the down arrow and select a class or classes.
Click the Create task button to assign it immediately or click the down arrow and select Schedule to schedule it for a future date.
For more information on task settings, check out the article on creating a task.
Schedule multiple historical tasks at once
From the Historical tasks tab, you can reuse multiple tasks at once, simplifying the planning process.
Using the checkbox, select the tasks you want to reuse.
Click the Reuse tasks button in bulk action bar.
Note: You can only multi-select tasks from the same subject (e.g. Year 12 Maths).
By default, schedule and due dates will be carried over from the prior year to the current calendar year; you can adjust them individually.
Under the down arrow, select a class or classes.
Under Schedule date and time, click the calendar icon and time to change when students will see a task.
Under Due date and time, click the calendar icon to change the due date and time.
Click the Create ‘x’ tasks button to finish.
You will receive a confirmation message indicating the number of tasks created across how many classes. Tasks will now appear in the scheduled tab on the tasks page.
Note: It may take a minute or two to create a large number of tasks at once.
Can't find a historical task?
Historical tasks will only appear if you have an active class that you can reuse the task in.
If you cannot find a specific task from a deleted class, it may be that;
You do not have any active classes to reuse that task in.
You no longer subscribe to the subject that the task originated.
