What's in this course?

Engaging, curriculum-specific content

This course contains videos, challenge questions, quizzes, text lessons, and exam application videos, backed by the latest research and always specific to your curriculum. Lessons are easy to understand and engaging from start to finish.

Focus on application

Lessons equip students to understand key concepts in depth and apply them to HSC-specific assessments and exams. Atomi lessons and assessments have every syllabus dotpoint covered, from pure scientific theory to real-life scenarios, problems and experiments. Exam application videos directly link the content to past exam papers to explicitly instruct students on what is required for them to achieve their best in the HSC.

How can I use this course with my class?

Atomi can be used in many ways to complement your teaching instruction. Some popular uses include:

  • Play an Atomi video at the start of a class to introduce a new topic

  • Create tasks by combining Atomi content and your own resources to make powerful in-class or homework activities

  • Try flipped learning by assigning Atomi videos and quizzes for students to complete before class and use the lesson for application-based tasks

  • Create revision sessions as practice sessions to help students revise before assessments

Below are more examples of how Atomi can be used with your Chemistry class.

Step students through practicals

Our content can step your students through a practical topic like titration from start to finish. Start your class with a quick summary of the basics by watching the Introduction to Titration video. Then, get students to complete titration experiments for the rest of the class, using practical guides like Titration: Preparation and Rinsing. For homework, have the students watch Titration Calculations and bring their answers to the next class.

Get students thinking about the real-world applications of Chemistry

We don’t just stop with teaching the basics of the content—Atomi content also covers the real-world applications of Chemistry. Have fun with your class by assigning them a lesson like Fossil Fuels and Biofuels for pre-work. Then, kick off your class with a video that extends the application and gets them thinking about different perspectives, such as the Environmental Impact of Fossil Fuels and Biofuels. After that, divide the class into two and get them to prepare a debate about the pros and cons. Follow up by having them complete the topic test for homework!
