How can I access AI feedback?

AI feedback is available on all text-based questions for all year levels. It’s a part of your Atomi subscription, meaning it comes at no extra cost.

Where can I find Atomi’s AI policy?

Atomi is committed to using AI tools to enhance the educational experience while ensuring ethical practices, transparency and the protection of user data. This policy outlines the principles and guidelines to benefit students, teachers and the entire school community.

We have aligned Atomi’s AI policy with:

  • The SOC 2 security framework.

  • The Australian Framework for Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Schools.

  • The Safer Technology 4 Schools (ST4S) program.

How does Atomi protect the privacy of student data?

Atomi is committed to protecting student privacy.

Our AI marking and feedback services don't use personally identifiable information (PII) about students in either inference or training, and we never train on student responses without explicit permission to do so.

You can learn more about the types of data we collect, how we use and store data and your rights in our Privacy policy or the Security, privacy and trust section of our Help Centre.

As a teacher, can I see AI-generated feedback provided to my students?

Teachers can view their student responses including any AI marking and feedback they received via the relevant lesson progress report.

What are student's obligations?

When responding to questions, we require that students don't include personal details in your responses — things like your full name, student number, contact details, or information about your background. Atomi questions are designed so you don’t need to share this kind of information, we take steps to attempt to remove it if it is inadvertently shared, but we ask you to never include it in the first place.

It's also important to remember that your responses may be seen by others. They can be seen by your teachers, and in some circumstance such as if you dispute your mark or offer feedback on the response you received, the Atomi team may review your response to help address any issues, or improve how our AI provides marking and feedback. Because of this, make sure to focus your answers on the learning task itself and never include anything private, personal, offensive, harmful or that otherwise breaches the Atomi terms and conditions.
